"I hope everyone is looking forward to an exciting 2012.
It’s hard to miss the signs, so I’m sure you’ve noticed – it’s election season and I am running for Lieutenant Governor of Missouri."
Late last November I stepped down from my position as Chair of the Missouri Democratic Party. Since then I have committed myself fully to the campaign. Helping Democrats across the state get elected to office is a job I loved and worked with pride, but I recognized that the best way for me to help the people of Missouri is from the office of the Lieutenant Governor.
My advocacy for good and accountable government began long before my campaign for Lieutenant Governor. As Missouri State Auditor, I found ways government can better help those that are most in need.
The Lieutenant Governor is one of the leading proponents for senior and veteran rights. As the holder of that office, I will make sure that the senior citizens and veterans of Missouri continue to be protected.
I am running to prove that common-sense solutions exist for fixing our economy while saving the programs that we rely on every day.
Stand with me to help show that we are serious about getting our state back on track.
